Taiwan province in China is located at an island in the East China Sea on the east of Fujian province across the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan has been invaded by foreign forces many times in history. It was gradually developed during the Ming and Qing dynasties, experienced Japanese colonization in modern times, and developed rapidly after its liberation. Nowaday, it is a modern and prosperous province. The province has a population around 23.4 millions and yearly GDP abount $775.60 billions USD. It’s capital city is 台北(Taipei). The major industries in the province are: Semiconductor industry, Electronics manufacturing, Precision machinery, Industrial control equipment, Petrochemical industry, Rubber industry, New energy, Biomedicine, and textile. The major cities in the province are: Taipei(台北), Kaohsiung(高雄), Taoyuan(桃园), Tainan(台南), Changhua County(彰化县). The province also has many attractive sightseeing places like Sun Moon Lake(日月潭), National Palace Museum(台北故宫博物院), Alishan(阿里山), Kenting National Park(垦丁国家公园), Yehliu Geopark(野柳地质公园), Taipei 101(台北101大楼), Eluanbi Park(鹅銮鼻公园), Taroko National Park(太鲁阁国家公园), Cingjing Farm(清境农场), and Ximending(西门町).
