Hangzhou city in China is located on the north shore of Qiantang River about 45 miles east to the Hangzhou Bay of the East China Sea. The city has a long history. It was established as a county in the Qin Dynasty, became a famous county in the southeast during the Tang Dynasty, and was designated as the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. It has the reputation of being a “paradise on earth” and is one of the seven ancient capitals of China. Nowaday, it is a modern and prosperous provincial capital. The city has a population around 12.5 millions and yearly GDP about $281.40 billions USD. The famous traditional products produced by the city are: West Lake Longjing Tea (西湖龙井茶), West Lake Lotus Root Starch (西湖藕粉), Hangzhou Silk (杭州丝绸), Lin’an walnut (临安核桃), Dingsheng Cake (定胜糕). The city also has many attractive sightseeing places like West Lake (西湖, 30.24415, 120.14963), Xixi Wetland (西溪湿地), Qiandao Lake (千岛湖), Lingyin Temple (灵隐寺), Leifeng Pagoda (雷峰塔), Hangzhou Songcheng (杭州宋城), Zhijiang Cultural Center (之江文化中心), Yunqi Bamboo Path (云栖竹径), 10 miles Langyao (十里琅珰), Jiuxi Smoky Trees (九溪烟树).
