Hohhot city in China is located on the high speed train line from Beijing to Lanzhou It is about 250 miles east to Beijing and 150 miles north to the border with Mongolia. Hohhot means “blue city” in Mongolian. The city has a long history and has been a settlement of grassland ethnic groups since ancient times.
