Taiyuan city in China is located roughly in the center of Shanxi province It is about 180 miles south to Zhengzhou in Henan province, and 100 miles east to Shijiazhuang in Hebei province. The city is formerly known as Jinyang. It has a long history. It was once the capital of the State of Zhao and later became one of the nine important border towns, earning it the reputation of “Dragon City”.
