Exhibition City-Taiyuan

Taiyuan city in China is located roughly in the center of Shanxi province It is about 180 miles south to Zhengzhou in Henan province, and 100 miles east to Shijiazhuang in Hebei province. The city is formerly known as Jinyang. It has a long history. It was once the capital of the State of Zhao and later became one of the nine important border towns, earning it the reputation of “Dragon City”. Nowaday, it is a modern and prosperous provincial capital. The city has a population around 5.4 millions and yearly GDP about $77.98 billions USD. The famous traditional products produced by the city are: Shanxi aged vinegar(山西老陈醋), Taiyuan pasta(面食剔尖), Qingxu grapes(清徐葡萄), Jinci rice(晋祠大米), Yangqu millet(阳曲小米), Qingxu Jinsha red apricots(清徐金沙红杏), Liuweizhai marinated meat(六味斋酱肉), Mengfeng cake(孟封饼), Jinquan sorghum liquor(晋泉高粱白酒), and Taiyuan tounao soup(太原头脑汤). The city also has many attractive sightseeing places like Jinci Scenic Area(晋祠景区), Shanxi Museum(山西博物院), Taiyuan Ancient County(太原古县城), Mengshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area(蒙山大佛景区), Taiyuan Fenhe Scenic Area(太原汾河景区), Taiyuan Zoo(太原动物园), Shuangta Temple(双塔寺), China Coal Museum(中国煤炭博物馆), Taiyuan Botanical Garden(太原植物园), Donghu Cu Garden(东湖醋园).
