Exhibition City-Guangzhou

Guangzhou city in China is located on the shore of the Zhujiang River about 40 miles south to the Estuary of the Zhujiang River. The city, also known as Yangcheng, has been an important city in southern China since ancient times and the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. Since modern times, it has been the forefront of China’s opening up and is the economic and cultural center of southern China. Nowaday, it is a modern and prosperous provincial capital. The famous traditional products produced by the city are: Xinken lotus root (新垦莲藕), Zengcheng lychee (增城荔枝), Zengcheng rice (增城丝苗米), Cantonese mooncakes (广式月饼), Guangdong embroidery (粤绣), fermented soybean peanuts (南乳花生), Conghua lychee honey (从化荔枝蜜), and Luogang sweet orange (萝岗甜橙). The city also has many attractive sightseeing places like Sacred Heart Cathedral (圣心大教堂), Beijing Road (北京路), Baiyun Mountain (白云山), Chimelong Resort (长隆度假区), Yongqingfang (永庆坊), Canton Tower (广州塔), Shawan Ancient Town (沙湾古镇), Chen Clan Academy (陈家祠), Big Buddha Temple (大佛寺), Guangdong Provincial Museum (广东省博物馆).
