Harbin city in China is located at the end of High Speed Train route from Beijing to Harbin It is about 600 miles southwest to Beijing, and 350 miles north to the border with Russia. The city, also known as the “Ice City”, rose to prominence due to railway construction in the late 19th century. It integrates Chinese and Russian cultures and is an important transportation hub and economic center in Northeast Asia. Nowaday, it is a modern and prosperous provincial capital. The city has a population around 9.8 millions and yearly GDP about $78.12 billions USD. The famous traditional products produced by the city are: Wuchang rice(五常大米), Harbin red sausage(哈尔滨红肠), Harbin beer(哈尔滨啤酒), Yichun blueberry(伊春蓝莓), salmon(大马哈鱼), hericium erinaceus(猴头菇), kvass(格瓦斯), Laodingfeng cakes(老鼎丰糕点), Yuquan wine(玉泉酒), and Jiaojie fungus(交界木耳). The city also has many attractive sightseeing places like Harbin Ice and Snow World(哈尔滨冰雪大世界), Siberian Tiger Park(东北虎林园), Songhua River Cableway(松花江观光索道), Volga Manor(伏尔加庄园), Harbin Polar Park(哈尔滨极地公园), Sun Island(太阳岛风景), Saint Sophia Cathedral(圣索菲亚大教堂), Harbin Sophia Square(哈尔滨索菲亚广场), and Central Street walking street(中央街步行街).
