Jilin Province is located in the middle of northeast China, bordering North Korea to the east, Liaoning Province to the south, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the west, Heilongjiang Province to the north, and about 700 miles from Beijing. The provincial capital, Changchun, is the political, economic and cultural center of Jilin. Jilin has a long history and is the birthplace of Manchu culture, with rich historical relics and ethnic culture. The population is about 27 million and the annual GDP is about 440 billion US dollars. The five major cities in the province include Changchun长春, Jilin吉林, Siping四平, Liaoyuan辽源 and Baishan白山.
