Sichuan, China, is located in the southwest, bordering Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet. The provincial capital, Chengdu, is about 1,100 miles from Beijing. Sichuan has a long history and is the birthplace of the ancient Shu civilization, with rich Three Kingdoms cultural relics. Sichuan has a population of about 8.4 million.
